Former handball player, long-term handball coach, professor at the Faculty of Sports and president of the Commission for Gender Equality at Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Associations.
Why did you decide to accept the role of Ambassador of the Women’s EHF EURO 2022?
Mainly because it is a wonderful project that is not only about sports or handball but also emphasizes the empowerment of women and the sustainable aspect of our daily lives. I can’t wait for all the participants, different views, ideas and genders to come together.
Why is it worth fighting for a greater role for women in society?
Because with a balanced promotion of women, everything will be better. Guaranteed duality is the best. HER and HIS views combined into one.
How important is the concept of sustainable development in your everyday life?
Every day I am aware and mindful of how important it is that we all treat our Mother Earth carefully.
What do you think are the main parallels between sports and business?
Both are focused on success – cooperation, interdependence, solidarity. On high standards, on the dedication and, after all, on happiness – to be in the right place at the right time.
What is your attitude towards sports and especially handball?
I love sports. As a hobby and as a profession. With Handball we have unconditional love. We took and gave a lot to each other. 😊
Which of the ambassadors do you know best and which do you appreciate?
I appreciate every single one. They are all exceptional people – extremely capable and at the same time humanly warm. I am very much looking forward to getting to know all those I have not met before this project. I know Deja Ivanović, Mojca Doupona, Nataša Pirc Musar and Maja Zalaznik the best – they are all fantastic.
Where will Slovenia place in the EHF Euro 2022?
Dreams or my emotional prediction is one of the medals. It would be very nice to be in the semi-finals or at least among the top eight teams of the Old Continent.
