AMBASSADORS

An important pillar of the European Women’s Handball Championship 2022 is the empowerment of women in sports, so the ambassadors of the largest women’s sports event in Slovenia will be successful Slovenian women.

The latter, just like athletes, can be a role model for many. Strong, recognizable, and successful ladies in their fields will make up the second team of Slovenia. The important individuals which responded to the invitation of the Handball Federation of Slovenia are:

Senidah

SPECIAL AMBASSADOR

One of the most recognizable names on the Slovenian music scene, an outstanding artist, singer, author, women’s rights activist, whose videos on online platforms regularly exceed 10 million views.

dr. Alja Brglez

The head of the Cabinet of the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor since 2013, the head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek before that.

Barbara Čeferin

Former basketball player, now a photographer and since 2003 also the owner and manager of the first private gallery specializing in art photography in Slovenia.

Mojca Doupona

Director General for Sport at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, as well as a member of the Commission for Women’s Sport, the Commission for Gender Equality at the Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations.

Tjaša Ficko

Deputy Mayor of the City of Ljubljana, the recipient of the Women’s Economic Forum Award for Women of the Decade in Public Life due to the successfully implemented Green Capital of Europe project.

Vanja Hrovat

A graduate of the Ljubljana Faculty of Economics and a long-time employee of Zavarovalnica Generali, since 2014 the President of the Management Board of one of the largest international insurance companies.

Deja Ivanović

Part of the Krim handball family, initially as an active handball player and a member of the golden generation, later the head of the youth teams of the Ljubljana club, and now as the Sport Director.

Katarina Karlovšek

Director of the RTA agency, independent entrepreneur with the organization of events and initiator of the now traditional December charity campaign Za nasmeh v mestu.

Vanja Lombar

Former General Manager and Retail Manager at OMV Slovenia and the only female among the eleven regional CEOs at OMV.

Medeja Lončar

Long-term employee of the Siemens Group and director of the company since 2007, as well as head of the management board in Croatia and Serbia.

Maja Pak

One of the main names in the field of tourism in Slovenia as the director of the Slovenian Tourist Board.

Former handball player, today a successful bowler, as well as a lawyer, partner, and director of the law firm Pirc Musar & Lemut Strle.

Former director and great supporter of sustainable development at AMZS and the recipient of numerous awards in the field of management.

Melanie Seier Larsen

The first partner of the Boston Consulting Group from Slovenia, and today also the director of this global company and a member of several other professional associations.

Anita Stojčevska

Chief executive officer of SKB banka and recipient of the Artmedia 2021 award, which is awarded by the manager association to successful business women in the highest management positions.

Tanja Subotić Levanič
