An important pillar of the European Women’s Handball Championship 2022 is the empowerment of women in sports, so the ambassadors of the largest women’s sports event in Slovenia will be successful Slovenian women.

The latter, just like athletes, can be a role model for many. Strong, recognizable, and successful ladies in their fields will make up the second team of Slovenia. The important individuals which responded to the invitation of the Handball Federation of Slovenia are:



One of the most recognizable names on the Slovenian music scene, an outstanding artist, singer, author, women’s rights activist, whose videos on online platforms regularly exceed 10 million views.

dr. Alja Brglez

The head of the Cabinet of the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor since 2013, the head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek before that.

Barbara Čeferin

Former basketball player, now a photographer and since 2003 also the owner and manager of the first private gallery specializing in art photography in Slovenia.

Mojca Doupona

Director General for Sport at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, as well as a member of the Commission for Women’s Sport, the Commission for Gender Equality at the Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations.
