COUNTDOWN: 20 days until the start of Women’s EHF Euro

Exactly 20 days remain until the start of the European Women’s Handball Championship. Eleven countries have hosted the competition so far. The furthest final showdown was in 2006, and the closest in 2012.

In 2006, the championship was hosted by Sweden, and the final was held at the Hovet Arena in Stockholm. The teams of Norway and Russia competed for the gold medal, and the Scandinavians were happy to win (27:24). Six years later, the championship was held in Serbia. The final match between Norway and Montenegro was hosted by Belgrade’s Kombank Arena. Montenegro became European champions (34:31).
