In 2006, the championship was hosted by Sweden, and the final was held at the Hovet Arena in Stockholm. The teams of Norway and Russia competed for the gold medal, and the Scandinavians were happy to win (27:24). Six years later, the championship was held in Serbia. The final match between Norway and Montenegro was hosted by Belgrade’s Kombank Arena. Montenegro became European champions (34:31).
