Ljubljana will host the best women’s handball teams in November. In the group stage of the European Championships, Norwegians, Hungarians, Croatians and Swiss will compete in Stožice, and later they will be joined in the Slovenian capital by handball players who will advance to the second part of the Group B competition (Denmark, Sweden, Slovenia and Serbia). On Sunday, November 20, the highlight of the championship will be on the program – the final of the Women’s EHF Euro 2022.

The Stožice Arena opened its doors for the first time on August 10, 2010 for a friendly game between the basketball national teams of Slovenia and Spain. It quickly became an irreplaceable venue for major events, from concerts by renowned musicians (One Republic, Bryan Adams, Michael Buble, David Guetta …) to international sports spectacles.

The Ljubljana beauty has accompanied many successes of two large Slovenian sports clubs that are home to her. The facility is shared by BC Cedevita Olimpija, the most successful basketball club in Slovenia, and HC Krim Mercator, the most trophy-winning Slovenian (women’s) handball club. In the past 12 years, the largest Slovenian hall, which seats over 12,000 spectators, has hosted numerous national team competitions – the European Basketball Championship in 2013, five years later the European Futsal Championship, and in 2019 the European Volleyball Championship.

Slovenian fans have already watched many successes of our athletes from the stands and we want it to be the same in November. Our handball players would lead successful performances from Celje’s Zlatorog to the Slovenian capital, which will host the final fights of the Women’s EHF Euro 2022.

Tickets for all the spectacles brought by the Women’s EHF Euro 2022 are available HERE.
